Mangoro

Impact story

Mangoro is a rural community in Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State, where families depend on farming. The village faced great hardship when their borehole stopped producing water. 

With no safe source remaining, residents began fetching water from a small muddy stream hidden within a thick bushy area. The path to the water was dangerous as snakes were often seen around the bushes, and the unsafe water caused frequent sickness among the people. The fear of both illness and snake bites became part of daily life. 

Lifewater arrived, assessed the abandoned borehole, and rehabilitated it, restoring a reliable source of safe water to the community. Families no longer enter the dangerous bush or depend on the contaminated stream. Safe water is now available within the community, and sickness is reducing.
