Kuka Church

Impact story

Kuka Church is a rural settlement in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, where families live among open farmlands and scattered compounds. The church serves as a place of worship and a gathering point for the surrounding community. 

For a very long time, the community lacked a reliable source of drinking water. Residents were forced to depend on water collected from dried and shallow pools that remained after the river had almost disappeared. Diarrhoea became common in many homes, and the repeated illness drained the strength, time, and resources of families. Lifewater visited Kuka Church and responded to the people’s long-standing need by drilling a brand-new borehole. Safe water now flows within the community. Families no longer depend on unsafe water, health conditions are improving, and daily life has become easier and more peaceful.
