Kpache Primary School

Impact story

Kpache Primary School is a busy rural school in Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, where children from the surrounding farming community gather each day to learn. Before Lifewater’s intervention, the school depended on an old open water source shared by many pupils and nearby residents.

Children queued around the source with buckets and containers, trying to collect enough water for drinking and handwashing. Pupils sometimes left class to search for water, and cases of stomach illness became a concern among many children, disrupting learning. Everything changed when Lifewater came to Kpache Primary School and provided a new borehole. Safe water is now available within the school compound. Pupils can drink safely, wash their hands properly, and learn in a healthier environment. The long queues and daily struggle for unsafe water have been greatly reduced.
