Impact story
Palaita is a small rural community in Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State, surrounded by rocky hills. The people are mostly farmers and firewood gatherers. After their borehole developed faults and stopped working, the community was forced to rely on a small natural spring hidden among thick brush and rocky terrain as their only option for water. The spring was exposed and vulnerable, forcing families to face daily challenges just to collect enough water for their households. As weeks turned into months, sickness became more common, and the burden of fetching water from the hidden spring weighed heavily on every household.
Life changed when Lifewater stepped in to rehabilitate the broken borehole. Families are healthier, children are doing better, and the entire community can now access safe water without the daily struggle of fetching from the remote spring.
