Dugun

Impact Story

Dugun is a lively settlement where many women are known for local bean cake frying and small roadside businesses that support their families. The community is active every morning as people prepares for the day’s work. Before the new borehole was drilled, the community struggled badly with water scarcity. Families depended on hand-dug wells. The water from these pits was usually muddy and filled with sand. The risk of diseases from the contaminated water was high, further straining the community’s health and resilience. Bathing and washing were reduced because water was too stressful to get. Lifewater intervention brought profound relief to Dugun. The reliable water source close to home reduced waterborne diseases and improved hygiene across the community.Women and men could invest more time in farming and small businesses, strengthening livelihoods. The borehole also fostered community pride and unity, as safe water became a shared blessing.
