Kpache

Impact story

Kpache is a farming community in Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, where families live among rocky paths, seasonal streams, and scattered farmlands.The community depended on a muddy stream that flowed between rocks. Women and children stood directly in the contaminated water, scooping it into buckets for drinking, cooking, and washing, with the same water shared with animals. The source was unsafe and cholera outbreaks occurred repeatedly, causing suffering among families. Lifewater arrived and drilled a brand-new borehole for Kpache, bringing relief that many had long needed. Today, families can access safe water at any time without returning to the contaminated stream. Health conditions are improving, children are safer, and daily life has become more peaceful and hopeful.
