Zagyo

Impact Story

Zagyo is a roadside farming community in Lafia East Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. the community endured years of water scarcity that deeply affected daily life. Getting safe water was a serious struggle. The people depended on a small open well around the community that collected rainwater and runoff from nearby areas for their water needs. This led to frequent outbreaks of waterborne diseases like cholera and typhoid. Young girls spent long hours fetching water, limiting time for other vital activities and schooling. The arrival of Lifewater marked a turning point for the community. Lifewater provided Zagyo with a year-round, reliable source of safe water by drilling a new borehole for them. This transformation dramaticallyimproved the health of the community, reducing disease outbreaks, and allowing girls to return to school. The borehole also eased daily burdens on women, freeing their time for economic pursuits. The people are grateful for the safe water that has brought comfort and relief to their homes.
