Impact Story
Abattoir Phase III is a busy settlement where daily activities revolve around livestock processing, petty trading, and small-scale businesses. The area is always active from early morning, as butchers, traders, and customers gather to earn a living.
Despite its importance, sanitation had remained a major concern. The absence of a toilet facility forced people to resort to open defecation in nearby bushes and open spaces. This created an unhealthy environment marked by persistent foul smells and frequent cases of waterborne disease.
The construction of a proper latrine by Lifewater brought a long-awaited change. The new facility has helped restore cleanliness and order. Open defecation has reduced significantly, the environment is now more hygienic, and the risk of disease has dropped. Today, the community expresses deep appreciation for addressing a long-neglected need. What was once a source of embarrassment has become a sign of progress and dignity.
