The Agwan Bagobiri Gwachipe community struggled with one functional hand pump that supplies water to the community. A second well had broken down and no help was available to fix the well.
The people resorted to fetching water from the river or buying from water vendors at an exorbitant price. For instance, a family of 4 or 5 uses water worth 1000 naira daily. The community river is about 4 kilometers away from the community.
Ezra from the community narrated their pathetic suffering from lack of water. He said, “Our children suffer from stomachache, typhoid, and diarrhea after consuming water from the river. But, today, our heart is full of joy knowing all this is history. We are grateful to God and Lifewater for providing safe and healthy water. May God give you double blessings.”
