Angwan Awala Sarki Hausawa community is in a dire water crisis. The community hand pump broke down about two years ago, and since then, the residents have depended on a distant river for water.  

The long trek to the community river comes with different hazards, from snake attacks to assaults from bandits. Every day, girls and women wake up in the community fearing attacks from snakes or bandits. However, with the repair, children can grow in a peaceful environment devoid of fear and anxiety.
