The Kango community has two hand pumps. Some time ago, the hand pumps broke down and got fixed, but the joy of the community was short-lived because it broke down again as the population in the community outweighed the two hand pumps. Since then, the people have suffered insufficient water supply for many years.
In the dry season, the river where the people fetch water dries up. The water from the river, though unsafe, is the only option they have.
During our visit, we replaced the two hand pumps. Today, there is safe water in the community.
In our interaction with Joshua Audu from the community, he says, “We can not contain the joy we feel today. God will bless you and grant all your heart desires. Thank you.”
