Dogora and many residents of Angwan Kapu Lambata have been drinking dirty water for the past six months since their hand pump broke down.

The community could not afford the cost of rehabilitating their hand pump. Therefore, the community abandoned the hand pump for water from a distant river and hand-dug wells.

Poverty and lack of water are interrelated occurrences in many parts of Nigeria. The lack of water can easily throw an otherwise stable family into extreme poverty- while poverty can hinder access to safe water, the same way as it did in Angwan Kapu Lambata.

With the rehab, safe water is accessible in the Angwan Kapu Lambata community. The love shown will encourage them with the internal fortitude to stay positive during tough times.
