Impact story
Ashangwa is a peaceful community in Lafia East Local Government Area of Nasarawa State that relied on a stagnant pond as their main water source for years.
The pond was unsafe, with many people stepping into it to collect water while animals also drank from the same source. This contamination resulted in frequent skin rashes and illnesses among children, causing widespread concern and hardship. Families lived with constant fear of waterborne diseases and longed for a safer solution.
Lifewater’s arrival brought a transformative change. The drilling team drilled a new borehole, providing the community with safe water for the first time. The community rejoiced, embracing the safe water that improved health and wellbeing for all. The borehole has restored health and happiness to this once-struggling community.
