The severe water scarcity in Izom Central Primary School has contributed significantly to the school’s lack of hygiene and sanitation. It is disconcerting to note that the venerated space of the academic community in Izom has become an offensive eyesore due to the lack of water.
Study time has often been interrupted for children to go far to fetch water for use in the school. The time spent out of school has equally contributed to the dwindling academic performance of many children.
The rehab of the school hand pump by Lifewater Canada has restored hygiene, sanitation, and even time for the kids. Today, safe water is now available in the school.
