Sabon Wuse Tafa Angwan Madaki is an extension of the fast-growing Sabon Wuse community. Many people have taken advantage of the community’s proximity to Abuja because of its low cost of living.

Before our intervention, the community depended on ponds, hand-dug wells, and water vendors.

The community hand pump broke down some months ago. Every effort to repair it proved abortive because the residents were not pulling together. In-fighting among the residents over limited access to scarce resources continues to be a big problem in tackling the growing water crisis in most communities in Nigeria.

During our visit, the hand pump was rehabilitated and restored. Our time with the Sabon Wuse Tafa Angwan Madaki people was breathtaking. Having access to clean water for the first time in a long while, they were so excited that we had a feast with the entire community.
