Ashige II

Impact Story

Ashige II is a settlement where homes are spread out and farming and small trade keep people busy. Daily routines in the village depend heavily on access to water. 

Before help came, the community relied on an open well that was not covered. Over time, leaves, dirt, and small animals sometimes fell inside, making the water unsafe to use. Illnesses like diarrhoea and typhoid spread rapidly, with children and the elderly especially affected. The community’s health suffered, and many families spent money on medicine without stopping the sickness. 

Everything changed when Lifewater drilled a new borehole. Safe water became available, and the old well was no longer the main source. Illnesses declined and life improved. Families now feel more comfortable using water in their homes.
